What is a Low Vision Occupational Therapist?

A Low Vision Occupational Therapist provides customized assessments, treatment and support to individuals who are blind or have “low vision”, that is those with permanently reduced vision that cannot be corrected with regular glasses, contact lenses, medicine or surgery. Common diagnoses include macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, retinitis pigmentosa and cataracts.
